Are you taking Metformin for your Type 2 Diabetes?

LMC Manna Research is looking for individuals with Type 2 Diabetes to participate in a research study for an investigational medication that may help reduce body weight.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease that affects the body’s ability to use insulin. According to Diabetes Canada, there are 11 million Canadians living with diabetes or prediabetes. T2DM is associated with co-morbidities such as weight gain, hypertension, poor vision, excessive thirst, fatigue, and other complications in the body. To prevent these complications, it is recommended for individuals to monitor and maintain their body weight closely.

Dietary intervention, physical activity, and weight loss are the first treatment for T2DM. There is strong and consistent evidence that obesity management is beneficial in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. In patients with type 2 diabetes who have obesity/overweight, modest and sustained weight loss has been shown to improve glycemic control and to reduce the need for glucose-lowering medications. This is an opportunity to help advance medical knowledge that could lead to new treatment options for patients with T2DM.

This study may help researchers develop better treatments for individuals with Type 2 Diabetes.
If you are:
